How do I perform a Patch Test with Vitamin C Serum?

A patch test should be performed before starting any new skin product. The test is designed to determine if would possibly have an allergic reaction to any ingredients in the new product.

 The following procedure should be used:

  • Chose a small area of your skin to test the product. The most used test area is the upper arm.
  • Wash and clean the area of your arm that you are going to use as the test site.
  • Ensure that you sufficient dry the test site on your upper arm
  • Apply your new skincare product in a circular motion on a 2cm x 2cm area on the test site of your upper arm
  • Leave the new product in place for 24 hours
  • After 24 hours, observe the test area for irritation or redness.
  • You can repeat this action for 4 consecutive days if you are extra cautious or if you have sensitive skin.
  • Do no continue use of the product without medical advise from a doctor if you observe any redness or irritation.
